Last Friday I decided I’d try and make a couple of pots for my living room after reporting some small plants. Semi successful – 3 pots and a vase, each pot slightly different from the rest, but never mind. I know need some inspiration on how to decorate these pots…
Despite numerous reminders (every Saturday my phone reminds me to blog) I’ve been remiss.
I’ll start this post with a none ceramic photo of some “Yorkshire buttons” which my friends and I learned to make on Friday.
In my ceramics world I’ve been concentrating on stands of different sorts for my birds and bees.

So Christmas is done and dusted and a new year begins.
Not entirely sure how my ceramics will progress in 2023. I’m not convinced that craft fairs are my way forward for selling and my website has had only two sales since going live. I could do with some inspiration creatively too.
I’ll get my thinking cap on when the fog of the holidays finally dissipates! Happy New Year everyone!
It was the last fair of the year. Had high hopes, but it was a little slow going. Think I need to reasses my sales strategy for 2023.
Hoping for a few sales on Saturday. My friend Kate (Kate Hutson ceramics) and I will be joining forces at Dunelm in York. Dunelm are supporting small businesses like ours giving us space to sell for a donation to charity in return. Fingers crossed for a good day! 😊
Having had Covid for the last couple of weeks I have been able to spend quite a lot of time on my website. I’ve been trying to get things looking clean and crisp, making sure the links work properly and putting PayPal buttons on the items in the shop. I think it’s looking lots better. Just hoping to make some sales!
This bird was a bit of an experiment as I didn’t really have a brown glaze to use. It came out ok I think, not perfect, but ok.
Not much pottery stuff to report this week as I’ve finally succumbed to the dreaded Covid. Hopefully, I’ll fight it off in time to be back at the studio next Monday.
I took my lovely old labrador, Luna, for a walk to Skipwith common on Tuesday morning.
I knew there would be a few toadstools for me to photograph. Although not as prolific as I’d hoped, there were some really interesting and beautiful toadstools about.
